Are you doing any travel this winter? We have plans to visit Kansas City around Christmastime, and I’m so looking forward to it. In this post, I’m sharing my winter travel capsule. These are the clothing items and accessories I’ll be packing for our trip home. I kept the color palette fairly neutral to allow more mixing and matching. I also included a range of pieces from dressy to casual so you’re set for all the events on your calendar. And as always, I packed loungewear for travel days.
WINTER TRAVEL CAPSULE
- Everlane Supima Micro-Rib Long-Sleeve Scoop Neck Tee // My favorite layering tees for winter. You can wear this under sweaters or sweatshirts for an extra layer of warmth.
- Quince Ryder Polarized Sunglasses // These are my favorite sunglasses; a travel necessity.
- Sézane Claude Bag // A gorgeous quality leather bag that can be worn as a crossbody. This bag fits all the essentials and works great for everyday. For a more affordable option, try this one from Quince.
- J.Crew Ivory Puffer Coat // I’ll be packing my old puffer coat from J.Crew. A puffer coat is nice for really cold days or more casual outfits. Here and here are similar options. If I were traveling somewhere really cold, I would pack my longer puffer.
- Sheena Marshall Dylan Necklace // This pendant necklace is a beautiful everyday piece. Use my code ASHROHR10 for 10% off.
- Everlane Cashmere Boxy Crewneck // I just recently purchased this cashmere sweater. Its versatility works well for a travel capsule. I’ve styled it several ways in the outfits below.
- Sézane Angelie Cardigan // This gorgeous knit from Sézane has the prettiest details and will work nicely for any dressy occasions like a nice dinner. This would be another lovely option.
- Mango Handmade Oversized Wool Coat // An oversized wool coat is a versatile outerwear piece for a winter trip. It can be styled with dressy or casual outfits. I own this coat in a tan color but just recently purchased the black.
- Gap Vintage Soft Raglan Sweatshirt // For travel days and plans that call for comfortable clothing, I like having an easy sweatshirt. You can layer a long sleeved tee underneath for more warmth. This sweatshirt is part of a set with the joggers linked below.
- Everlane Tencel Oversized Blazer // Blazers are a chic and elevated outerwear option and can be styled so many ways. I would add my wool coat over this in the winter.
- Sézane Niels Ankle Boot // These boots (recently purchased and on their way to me!) will add a little edge to my more minimal outfits. I also recommend the Frēda Salvador Brooke Boot as a lightweight and durable boot for travel; use my code STITCHANDSALT15 for 15% off your first purchase.
- New Balance 327 Sneaker // No travel capsule would be complete without a comfortable sneaker. For winter, I wear these with some thick socks so my feet stay warm.
- J.Crew Stevie Ankle Boot // These are a classic, chic ankle boot with a kitten heel and leg-elongating pointed toe. These work well for any dressier travel outfits.
- Mango Black Belt // Any old black belt you have will do. It’s an easy way to add a little something extra to a minimal outfit. Here and here are good are some options.
- Sézane Barry Cardigan // A chic and versatile sweater that can be worn with the buttons in the front or the back. I love this sweater tucked into jeans. The Sézane Gaspard Cardigan is a similar style.
- Mango Black Scarf // For cold winter days as well a chic accessory!
- Levi’s Ribcage Ankle Straight Denim // These are the perfect classic straight cropped denim that will go with all your shoes. I own the Jazz Pop wash which is sold out at many retailers, but I found some sizes here and here.
- Gap High Rise Boyfriend Jogger // For any travel days, a comfortable pant with an elastic waist is a necessity! These come in petite and tall sizes as well.
- Levi’s Ribcage Ankle Straight Denim // These are the same pair of jeans mentioned above but in a black wash.
- Everlane Dream Pant // These pants feel like sweatpants but look like work pants. They can be dressed up or down for different occasions. I purchased the black color last year, but just recently acquired the green pair.
- ABLE Stride Hoops // I don’t take much jewelry when traveling (I’m terrified of losing it) but I would feel naked without a pair of hoops. These are my current fave. Use my code STITCHSALTGIFT30 for 30% off until the end of December!
- Madewell (Re)Sourced Cuffed Beanie // If you’re going to be walking around outside exploring the city in the winter, a warm hat is essential. This is my favorite casual beanie.
- Madewell Cashmere Cuffed Beanie // This is a similar option to the one above, but in cashmere. I like having two color options that match the coats I’m packing.
